Featuring : Nancy Wu

Artist Featuring is a new feature I'm starting on this blog :) it resembles a lot at my usual "talks" where I write random things about everything I think of a certain artists;series, music, personal life, news,  etc. For this first time I want to feature Nancy Wu.

What made me chose her is this article that I read, about her thinking how she wasn't good enough. ->  http://asianuniverse.net/forums/Nancy_Wu_Am_I_That_Bad_t356873.html  I will come back to this later on in this post.

General 
I looked her up on Wikipedia. She was known through her participation in TVB's 18th Annual New Talent Singing Awards competition (Top 4) as well as TVB's 3rd Annual Cover Girl Competition (Where she won many things). Then, she enrolled in TVB's acting class.

I'm always very impressed by actress who actually "learned" acting and went into acting class. They seem to be like the ones who really worked hard for it and really want it. (I'm not criticizing actresses who entered to TVB after winning pageants.. .but in some way, they actors who studied acting do seem to know more about it)

Series 
Series I've seen of her ; Ten Brothers (Tong tong), Forensic Heroes III (Eva), Daddy Good Deeds (Wendy), Season Of Love (Chau Sang)

Ten Brothers is one of the series I watched a while ago, but I still remember her character well...because she had my chinese name in it :P She played a stubborn but kind girl in it. Her character seemed quite important since it was one of the only "girls" character in it (since there are 10 brothers; 10 guys) and I think she shared a good chemistry with Jack Wu. So she already left me a quite deep impression then, and even though I haven't watched any of her series from 2008-2011, I recognized her right away as "Tong Tong from 10 brothers" in Forensic Heroes 3. (which is rare because I didnt use to recognize people at that time) I saw her again last year in Daddy Good Deeds.

In both FH3 and DGD, she played the wife of someone. I could see that she made huge steps from Ten Brothers and her acting improved a lot :) Her scenes where she was mad & yelling, were very convincing. Eva, wife of Wayne Lai in FH3, was nice at first, then started to be irritating since she didn't seem to care about her family, but that was the goal and Nancy reached it. In DGD, she was the wife of Evergreen Mak and the sister in Law of Cilla Kung and Linda Chung. Together, they really looked like a real family :)

I recently watched Season Of Love and was happy to see Nancy again  in it. She seemed to have had a more important role and become the center of attention of the 5 episodes of the season since it was her life, that the whole story was around. Was interesting to see the 3 versions of her life, and I think she did well at showing the same character but with a different personality. Must not have been that easy since it had to look like the same person, but yet different. If you get what I mean.. :P
Even if I haven't saw the serie Gloves Come Off, I heard that she played a mute girl in it and used sign language. Once again, impressive :) I'm gald that she won Best Supporting actress for it at the TVB awards last december! It proves that she has the potential to act.

Singing

Another thing I wanted to mention is that..Nancy can sing!! I didn't knew she entered a tvb singing competition at first, so I was very impressed the first time I heard her singing at the New Year countdown. The song was really catchy and I enjoyed hearing Nancy sing it :) 

& when I heard her singing at the Starhub awards, I was like yup, she can really sing! Sorry bout the quality of the second video... its the only good one I found xD Im so happy she sang the themesong of THC cause it's one of my favorite serie:) Plus, heard the person recording (or someone near) saying that she sang quite well, hehe :) Nancy really sings better then I though! (And better then some tvb singers too...:P)

The only news article I want to talk about it the one I posted at the beginning (especially the first two parts..)  I know Nancy had other news/rumors of boyfriends and stuff, but I don't want to get into that, it would be way too long and I don't want to comment on her relationship since I do not know that much about it.. 

So, I felt really sad for Nancy after reading that article and seeing her low self-esteem. I don't like her saying that she is not pretty enough, cause she is beautiful! If not, she wouldn't even be where she is right now. She has all the acting skills that she needs, so soon enough, I believe that she will get bigger roles. I hope so! Quoting her :  "I cannot control the ability of others, so I can only control my own abilities. I will just have to try my best and let the audience recognize I am someone worthy of challenges." 

Love what she said :) She really seems to be really trying, so I wish all the best for her. Nancy, I support you lots!! The article also talked about how she could pair with Wayne, and I agree! She really looked like a great couple with him in FH3 and the two seemed to share a good chemistry. Hope that her pairing with Wayne can be advantageous for her by allowing her to have bigger roles in series :) Looking forward to see more from Nancy!! 

*When I write these kind of things, I sometimes secretly expect that the artist will read it, if ever they randomly google themselves and bump onto my website, haha. That's why I say "you" sometimes, like for "I support you" :P Just ignore it if you're a regular reader, hahahaha xD 

Linda Chung forms a "Miss Virgin" band - thoughts

This is just a really quick thoughts write up :) I knew about this news a few days ago, and I was really excited for Linda!! I hope everything works out for her! The name "miss virgin" is a bit weird for a music band though... why not something like "Canadian Chinese girls" or whatever? They're all from there and Eliza, Christine and Leanne even have an accent xD (Dunno about Grace? Never saw her acting) Anyways, like you guys know, Linda Chung's my favorite actress so I'm super happy. :) I also really like Eliza Sam after watching Divas in Distress, and Christine Kuo too after Ghetto Justice II! So I'm really happy they can do it with Linda. The other two actresses, I don't know them too much xD I have seen Leanne Li in The Other Truth, she was playing Ruco's half-sister. Grace Wong, I have no idea who she is :P But Christine says she can sing so yeahh :) Christine said she could play eletric violin, Leanne could play guitar and Grace could sing /dance...I was wondering, what about Eliza? loll. Anyone know what instrument she can play or if she can dance, or anything? xD Anyways, hoping the best for the girls! Even if I wont be able to attend the concert, I'll be looking forward for news and pics of it! :)

Linda Chung's Social Anxiety - thoughts

Okayy, I know I haven't posted forever...but here is one long, important post! And kinda personnal too....but it needed to get out and I don't mind exposing here since noone who read these really know me :) I would be extremly shy if someone I know reads this though xD But I'm writting this with 100% honesty so yeahh, hear it goes!

It's basically the whole reason why I like Linda. She's one of the few celebs I can actually really look up to to be like them. No, I don't want to be a celebrity. But Linda's my idol and I want to be like her. I actually am a lot like her "before", except that I'm not depressed or anything, I'm just really shy x)
So, before I read this, I often heard here and there Linda interviews where she says the first years in the industry she was not too social, seats alone, didn't talk to other much, etc. But now she's more social and open. That's when I really started to look up to her and admire her. It was the first time I heard this kind of stuff from a celebrity cause most of the time, singers and actors are super loud and talkative.
Once, I remember telling my chinese friend that Linda was my fav tvb celebrity, and when she asked why, I said, in a very awkward way, it's because I can relate to her. She obviously didn't understood, so I was like nevermind, I didn't said anything. But now, let me explain.
After I heard Linda's interview about her being more quiet the first years at TVB, I immediatly thought of myself during the first years of school. I was wondering if she was like that because she was shy, or just cause it was her personality. But obviously, I think, it's because she was more shy, like me :$
So that's why I look up to her to try to be a more social person. It's been my goal for the past years, at the beginning of every school year, at each of my birthdays, at each new year I've been telling myself "Okay, this year, I'm gonna be less shy", but I never reach my goal enough. I need a lot of time before I come out of my shell/bubble with someone and be able to talk to them a lot.
And in the part where she said she used to reply with "Yes/no" , well, that's TOTALLY me. I couldn't better describe my replies when someone ask me a question. I try to say more everytime, but I'm always afraid people will think I'm boring or something, it's like a reflex, even if I know I should talk more. Everyone in my family, my friends, my teachers, everyone I know is conscious that I don't talk a lot. I always try to talk more, but it's hard for me :/ So, the whole point of this post is.....telling how much Linda's situation is encouraging to me :) There's finally someone out there, that I can take real example of and that I admire. I will for sure think of Linda and try to talk me...whenever someone talks to me! I hope I can be like her someday and be able to have more confidence while talking to others.

Christine Kuo car shaking with Michael Tse - thoughts

So I just read some news about Christine Kuo seducing Michael Tse and about her fake break up with Joey Law....You can read the news here :

About these news...I believe the second one could be possible but not the first one. 

I believe Christine when she says she was filming a scene for Justice Pursuit & Attack....I mean, I don't think she would have dare to say that if it wasn't the truth! She said there were staff at that location, that's probably true but the media might have pretended there were not so they could have attention with the news. I'm kinda annoyed and feel bad for her for all her rumored boyfriends, seriously, I don't think she would have gotten that much boyfriends...she doesn't seem to be like that! *and aww, Oscar's so nice!* I kind of feel sad seing her cry like that :( Plus Michael approved that they really were filming so I believe these are really just rumors....

About the second news, with Joey Law...that, I don't think it's impossible. It's very possible, actually. It'd be resonable for her to have a fake break up with Joey Law....just satisfy TVB.

I kinda feel bad for Christine about her family too :( Anyways...I still hope the best for her! 

Boscolie break up - my thoughts

So, my thoughts about Myolie Wu and Bosco Wong's break up....Like most people, I'm pretty sad about it....but, and now I'm talking about MY THOUGHTS, Bosco fans, please don't be offended...but I think their break up is pretty much Bosco's fault. I think he had a 3rd party, not necesseraly another girlfriend..but someone he had something with. I don't think he had dated 3 girls in 6 months like the news article said, but it's not impossible that he had at least one. Also, when the reporters asked both of them if they had 3rd parties, Myolie said that she didn't had one, but for Bosco, they had to ask him, while Bosco only replied no.  Yes, they both cried, but I think it's a different cry. Myolie is because she got cheated on by the one she loved, while Bosco is because of regret & because Myolie didn't forgive him. Bosco said "I wanted to stay together, but if it doesn't work, then it doesn't work." , but I kind of do not believe him. They "worked" and stayed together 8 years, they've gone through so much. They've only made their relationship public last year, and I think it's because at that time, they were pretty sure they were gonna stay forever, they wouldn't have did it just for fun because of all the rumors. Now Bosco say that it doesn't work?? I think he made it not work. He said stuff like he didn't want Myolie to get hurt...once again..I think it's by regret. Like I think he regret that he hurted Myolie and doesn't want anyone else to hurt her...

So yeahh those are just my thoughts and theories about their breakup...I don't know if I'm watching too much series to have written that xD But anyways, you don't have to believe it or get mad if you don't agree with me, once again, it's just my own opinion :)
